    Hello Everyone,

I’m Sushmita Nandini, a history researcher specializing in Ancient Indian history. I’ve always been fascinated by art and culture, and my curiosity to learn more about textiles and fabrics comes from encountering textile patterns on stone sculptures and Buddhist thangka paintings. Warm greetings to all!

My name is Vandana and I’m based in India. I’m a fashion and textile educator, researcher. Started my journey as a writer with a deep interest in cultural heritage and material narratives, and recently co-edited a book titled <em data-start=”360″ data-end=”435″ style=”font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit;”>Handbook of Museum Textiles, Volume 1: Conservation and Cultural Research, published by Wiley-Scrivener. The book explores the role of textiles in museum spaces—how they preserve memory, carry cultural significance, and act as powerful tools for storytelling.

Though I’ve worked in the field for several years, I’m constantly curious about new ways to interpret South Asian art and history, especially through the lens of cloth and craft. I’m thrilled to be part of these lectures and look forward to learning alongside all of you!

I welcome the opportunity to learn from and connect with others who share a passion for art and culture.
