Hi Preksha,
I’m glad this platform exists—it has such positive energy.
I need a small help regarding the lecture recordings. I’d like to rewatch them for quick revision, but I’m unable to adjust the playback speed. Could you help me with the settings to enable this?
It would be a great help. Thanks in advance!

Hi, my name is Kathleen, and I live in Canada.
When I heard about the MAP 10-week series I knew I had to join because of my love of textiles and the traditions of Indian textiles. I am happy to be a part of this group.
I am an independent clothing designer, and I also do surface design and natural dyes.
I have travelled many times to India to discover the textiles, especially the work of the kharigars in Gujarat and Rajasthan along with Aranya in Munnar, Kerala. Also travels to SE Asia and living in Japan and Greece in the mid-80’s. Exploring textiles and the work of artisans has always been an important part of my travels.
If you wish to view some of my work you can find my work on Instagram at

Hi my name is Rosemine, I am right now making a documentary for French TV explaining the journey of my indian ancestors and why/how I became French 4th generations later. They travelled about 1880, from Gujarat to Zanzibar, Madagascar then la Réunion. I am leaving mainly in Paris but often also in la Réunion, my mother still leaving there. That’s how, trying to understand why my old grand parents quit India (Gujarat : Jamnagar, Porbandar, Kurch Mandvi) then, I discovered so many wonderful things about indian textile and crafts. Thanks for this.
Just a comment regarding the end of the lectures, especially yesterday 30th august : there are quite interesting links provided but just at the end, so I never get time enough to copy this 🙁 .

Hi, I’m Raja Pratap — Textile Designer, Design Consultant, Educator, and Curator. (Ex-FDCI)<br data-start=”906″ data-end=”909″> With nearly three decades of experience in the textile industry, I’ve worked extensively across Delhi, Mumbai, Gujarat, and Hyderabad, specializing in home textiles, craft-based design, and business development.
Most recently, I was associated with the Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) as a Textile Specialist and Fashion Event Production Coordinator, primarily curating the Indian Textile Gallery – 2 at the National Crafts Museum, Delhi, a two-year-long project that opened to the public to celebrate India’s rich textile heritage, hand in hand I used to take care of the fashion event production planning (FDCI-ICW and FDCO x LFW).
Over the years, I have collaborated with the Ministry of Textiles on cluster development programs, supporting weavers, artisans, and craftsmen to innovate and align their designs with market demand while sustaining traditional knowledge.
As an educator, I continue to mentor students and young designers, bridging the gap between heritage crafts and contemporary design practice. Currently, I’m exploring opportunities to support NGOs in scaling their craft initiatives, and working towards establishing a Skill Development School in Himachal Pradesh to empower rural communities through design and craft-based livelihoods..
